Depression Test - Identify the Symptoms Before You See Your Doctor
Depression test - have a good idea of
your depression symptoms so you won't be misdiagnosed.
People lie.
They omit truths, forget facts, and minimize or exaggerate symptoms. We don't necessarily mean to, we often simply do not understand the correlation between all of our symptoms and the real cause of the mood disorder.
That's why depression tests are as important as a precursor to visiting your doctor; you can get a good idea of all of your long term symptoms of depression, rather than just the acute ones that are bothering you right now.
You can find depression tests at your local community help center, and there are depression tests available online:
These depression tests were usually developed by leading mental health professionals and are designed to help you learn the difference between situational/reactive depression - like becoming depressed as a result of losing your job, as an example - and chronic or ongoing depression, such as the chronic apathy that develops over a lifetime of personal disappointments.
An online depression test takes approximately fifteen to twenty minutes.
You can also read more about stress tests in the book "Conquering Stress," by C.J. Green.
Depression tests can also be administered during an intake interview with a mental health professional.
If you are deeply depressed, don't wait to take a self administered depression test, contact your nearest mental health agency and set up an intake appointment
The psychologist will administer the depression test as part of the placement interview and can help you determine why you are feeling so bad.
If you have feelings that are overwhelming to the point of contemplating suicide, stop now and go to your local emergency room; your life is important.
You can figure out why you're so depressed and at what level later. The important thing right now is that you refrain from hurting yourself.
